We have a new mascot at the fire station. He’s tiny and gray with long whiskers and a longer tail. I’m not sure how long he’s been around, but we just began seeing him a week ago. JR, with our local pest control, came out and placed some bait that’s supposed to make the little critter dehydrated and leave in search of water. He has the best of both worlds, he’s hanging out in the TV room next to the kitchen. He has his own recliner – no one will dare to sit in his recliner.
About mid-week, two of the medics saw him run from the fridge to the nearest recliner. Solution: Carry the recliner outside and maybe he’ll take off. Next day, figuring he had taken off, they brought the recliner back in. Ready for lunch, he took off from the recliner back to the fridge. No one fears him except for one of the female medics and me. I’m respecting his space, I hope he respects mine. I’m just hoping I don’t see him.
If anyone has a cat to loan out, please let me know.
GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you. Email: [email protected]
