What a workout – cooking, preparing hot dogs, hamburgers & sausage on a stick at the Jane Long Festival! There I was, sweating buckets, dancing along to Zumba, hoisting a 50 lb. cooker lid as I would finish putting together and wrapping stuff in foil. Hey, I’m just kidding about the Zumba part, well maybe I did dance and sing along. Great band, great music! Anyway, I figured I’d lost at least 5 pounds or so and probably some of the flab on my arms by the end of the day. Needless to say, after dealing with all that food, I wasn’t interested in eating, just drank gallons of water and a couple of diet cokes. I dreamed of Leo shouting, “Hey Georgia, a burger and 2 hot dogs,” as he would watch me struggle with the cooker lid, “C’mon, use those muscles!”
Hey, if you saw us out there, we were the newly formed Bolivar Peninsula Lions Club. Yep, another club in our great community! Also, if you know of anybody hiring a barbecue cook/preparer, look me up. I can bench press at least 50 lbs, I’m adding this to my resume.
GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you.
