Last week, as I sat at my computer to write my weekly diddy, I felt really guilty because my blinds were so dusty. Well, they’ve been cleaned since then and I feel pretty much guilt free. The dog even got a bath this week, it was a pretty productive week and an exciting one at that! I don’t have a “Bucket List.” I’ve seen the movie and some of those things I might do, or want to do – like maybe parachuting. If they could come up with an easy landing platform, like a swimming pool filled with cotton balls or a gigantic marshmallow …
Anyway, my husband approached me this past Saturday with the list of things we needed to do: Go to the Eagles Down Under, go to the Fish Fry and go up in a helicopter. Three things I’ve never done before. No sweat, “No, I’m not afraid to do any of those things.”
All were wonderful and I’d do them again in a heartbeat. No offense Eagles and Bay Vue Methodist, but the helicopter ride was by far the most exciting. We asked the pilot to fly over our house, which my husband had to point out to me while we were up there. He sat in the front seat with the pilot, and they took his door off so he could take pictures without obstruction. We flew over the Gulf and over all the many ponds throughout the area.
I felt like Meryl Streep – I had a farm in Africa …

GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you.
