This morning as RR was waking up, he slapped my hand that was on top of his head, messing with his hair. Stop That! I said, just think, next week you get to put up with this all day long! You see, retirement starts again this Saturday. There was a pause and he said, “this may be the shortest retirement in history.”
Yesterday, I asked him if he had started his list of things to do? The answer was, “NO, YOU said the first week I could sleep all day and just do nothing if I want to, remember?” I laughed…yes dear. After 50 years he knows I will be up and ready for new adventures, whether it is fixing something on the new home on wheels or cleaning out a drawer or box. That’s just how I am.
Starting new adventures at this stage of our lives means completely different things to each of us. I have great spurts of get-up-and-go, they don’t last long. He, on the other hand, has great spurts of let’s-take-a-nap, and they last a long time. For instance, his idea of a nap is several hours and mine is a good power nap of 45 minutes. Let’s face it, it will just be fun, especially in a confined space.
Sometimes he calls me Maytag, I wonder why? hehe
Have a great week. Stay tuned.
