Tim Paulissen announces run for County Commissioner

paulissenTim Paulissen announced today he intends to seek election as Galveston County Commissioner, Precinct 1 in the upcoming March 2016 Republican Primary. Tim brings a wealth of experience in local government and community service. As a two-term Mayor of League City, and a former city councilman, Tim is familiar with the challenges of managing our growing communities and keeping them attractive places to live and raise families. Beyond his local government service, Tim has been active for years in many community and charitable organizations such as the Dickinson Rotary Club, Knights of Columbus, the Galveston County Transit Board, the Dickinson Historical Society, and the regional Transportation Policy Council.

Under his leadership, Tim saw League City be named one of the safest cities in Texas and one of the best small cities to live in America. He also helped reduce League City’s tax rate to its lowest level since the Ronald Reagan Administration. Tim believes his experience and his rock solid conservative track record will serve the residents of Galveston County well as commissioner.

Tim stated, “I have a proven track record of keeping government small, making services responsive and effective, and cutting taxes to keep more money in your family’s pocketbook.” As county commissioner, Tim promises to continue the fight of cutting taxes, increasing the quality of local services, improving roads and drainage within the precinct, and investing in public safety to make the precinct one of the safest places to raise a family and do business in the county.

Tim Paulissen has the support and endorsement of many community leaders, including current Precinct 1 County Commissioner Ryan Dennard, who announced earlier this fall he will not seek reelection in 2016. Dennard cited Paulissen’s experience and conservative credentials, saying, “Tim will be an effective commissioner. There won’t be a need for on the job training, and residents can be assured of having a strong conservative representing them on the Commissioners Court.”

Tim is a native Texan and has been married to his wife, Ann, for 36 years. They have two sons and one daughter-in-law.

The campaign is hosting an official kick-off on December 10th from 6 – 8pm at Jackie’s Brickhouse in Kemah. Admission is free and there will be food and refreshments for everyone in the family to enjoy. For more information, visit www.TimPaulissen.com
