Third Annual “Biker or Not” Party

The Third Annual “Biker or Not” Party kicked off Friday, June 1st. All proceeds benefit the EMS Angel Motorcycle Club for their “Share The Pain” Teddy Bear Project. The EMS Club helps restock the teddy bears in all the EMS vehicles in Galveston, Chambers and surrounding counties.

Saturday morning, kick stands up at 11:00 a.m., some 66+ bikers ventured out for an all day ride, down Hwy. 87 and through the back roads of south Texas.

Saturday evening at Tiki Bar & Grill, the 50/50 drawing, the raffle and live auction were off to a raring blast with live music by Larry Tillery. An honory plaque was presented to Mark & Kay Currier, Steve Salisbury presented the dedication plaque to Big Ed Smith and Jan Kent was presented with the Jacob Kent scholarship award. The $500 scholarship honors Jacob Kent, Jan’s son, who was killed April 2, 2005, when his motor cycle was hit by a drunk driver. The scholarship is presented each year to a (minimum) 3.0, National Honor Society student from High Island.

The ceremony ended on Sunday with the Annual Blessing of the Bikes at Gregory Park on Hwy. 87 in Crystal Beach.

  1. The ems angels MC would like to thank all of the sponcers on the peninsula for there generous donations. The total raised for this event was a amazing 7300.00. And there will be Teddy bears being ordered next week and distribution to in the weeks to come.
    This was a amazing event and look forward to a bigger and better event the first week of June 2013.
