The Fall issue of THE LOCAL hits stands and reminds us why we all look forward to the season after summer’s close. Bolivar settles down a bit, saying goodbye to summer vacationers and looking forward to cooler weather and emptier beaches. This issue celebrates the history of Bolivar and its development over the years. Specifically, a focus on the “beach-centric website”, CrystalBeach.com, created over twenty years ago and handed down to son, Tom Osten. A reflection on the destruction and then growth since Hurricane Ike wreaked havoc on Bolivar ten years ago this year.
