Two very small words and they mean so much no matter how often you hear or say them. In February RR was in the hospital for several days and friends and family came to stay with him while I had doctor appointments too. And then there was the family, kids and grandkids that swarmed the room for their Dad and Papa. My heart was so full of love for these people and so was RR‘s. Thank You.

I had day surgery on a very nice size lump in the thyroid area and it was ever so happy to keep growing after I found it. My doctor sent me to a thyroid specialist – I’m not even going to try and spell what her title was. Nice Lady Doctor. It took several months to get the surgery scheduled and that darn lump just kept growing. By the time it was time to take it out, it was very happy where it was and really did not want the cold world. But nice Lady Doctor took that sucker out. Of course, this all happened on the day that Harborside and Ferry Road flooded and we could not get home after surgery. So we went to Chili’s on the seawall. A nice lady at the bar became my Momma and took care of me – warm mashed potatoes and chopped ice in water. Of course, RR had a really big lunch, LOL. Thank You, Doctor and Chili’s bar tender.

Then something happen so unexpected in my life that I was devastated for weeks. I know the rules and there was nothing I could do about it and there was truly no good reason given. Friends and family came a’running to cheer me on and try to help me get over this anger and disappointment. Some- times, when you think new people are the greatest, it is only a mask, and when the mask comes off, there are terrible things under that mask. But Friends and Family were there to make me smile and see it was not my fault – head on down the road. Thank You.

RR got sick again, phenomena and our regular doctor could not work him in for weeks so we saw a new doctor. Thank Goodness, he asked questions our regular doctor never asked and he was able to make sure new tests were run to find the problem. The first prescription poor RR was allergic to, so they sent out two new ones and that was really good. Plus the doctor called two days later to check up on RR. Wow! Once again here comes the friends and family, where would we be without you people. Now, at this point, Mr. Independent was not always too happy, that is ok as he got well. Thank You new Doctor and Friends and Family

Earlier this month was another reason to say thank you. So many people have joined the Golf Cart Poker Run over the last five years. This started as an idea to raise monies for our children at a Lions Club meeting. The first year, we were so surprised to have about 50 golf carts and fun loving people. These people really surprised us with their generosity for auction items. Both schools were so pleased with the funds we were able to give them. As the years have gone by we have been able to help the teachers with their expenditures and our nurses. You are the best in the world.
