Serving Up 30 Years of
Gulf Coast Style Music, Art and Crabs
Organizers of the annual Texas Crab Festival are already making plans for the May 2015 event, which will be a celebration of the festival’s 30th year. Every Mother’s Day weekend since 1985 festival-goers have headed to Crystal Beach, Texas to enjoy a taste of some of the finest and freshest music, art and crabs the Gulf Coast has to offer. USA Today recently called it one of the “10 Best Food Festivals to Dive Into”. The Texas Crab Festival features a Crab Dish Cookoff, Crab Races, a Crab Legs Contest and an assortment of vendors serving up local seafood specialties like crab gumbo, BBQ crabs, crab poppers, stuffed crab and more. The festival also includes a 5K Run, a Washers Tournament, a carnival midway, arts & craft booths and a full schedule of music and entertainment designed with the whole family in mind.
The Texas Crab Festival is operated by Texas Crab Festival Charities, a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation whose mission is to increase educational and career opportunities for Bolivar Peninsula residents of all ages, and to support local organizations that further the goal of improving the lives of the residents of Bolivar Peninsula.
Festival organizers are already hard at work, hoping to make the 2015 30th Annual Texas Crab Festival the biggest and best yet. They are currently taking applications for food and arts & craft vendors and of course sponsorships and volunteers are always welcome. To get involved just visit texscrabfestival.org or email [email protected] for more information.
The Texas Crab Festival is May 8-10, 2015 at Gregory Park in Crystal Beach, Texas; just a ferry ride away from Galveston Island.
