Teasers

The weather, that’s what I’m talking about.
Wow, what a beautiful weekend we had. Texas Crab Festival got out there and started selling raffle tickets for a cool golf cart. It’s got a lot of get-up-and-go. I know because I got to drive it in the Mardi Gras parade. I coaxed a couple of friends to come with me to help throw stuff: beads, doggie treats, koozies, and left-over Crab Fest Tees. Come to think of it, the weather was nice that day as well. Of course, there was a threat of rain, but it held off until later that evening.

I decided to make Saturday my shopping day. Dillard’s was beckoning and I bit! I forgot to spend that gift card that was burning a hole in my pocket. That’s okay, it’ll be there next time I get the urge to shop. I really wasn’t impressed on that shopping spree; I think I must be rushing the season a bit.

One of my main goals was to find some plants/flowers to plant in all these empty flowerpots I have. The freeze took a toll on my gardens. Luckily, my variegated ginger is coming back up, but I think I lost my hibiscus again this year. I pulled the plumerias out of the ground when all the leaves fell off around last October. The plumerias are waiting in the garage for some warm weather; then they’ll go back to the ground. As I pulled out some dollar grass, the ants found me. So thrilled they’ve made it through the cold weather – NOT!

Oh, pretty and somewhat inviting, the pool! It was bugging the “pool boy,” aka, my husband, so he actually got in there to vacuum and scrub the sides. Of course, he was frozen when he was finally through.

Good news, we cleaned the hot tub and the cover, replaced the water and re-chemicaled it, getting ready to sell it. Let me know if you’re interested!

I’m gradually replacing the outdoor cushions, watch out Second Going! The umbrellas are fairly new, I think I bought them at the end of last summer.

It turned a bit chilly later in the day on Sunday, but we bundled up in our jackets and grabbed our cocktails to go try out the new cushions.

Looking forward to some nice Spring weather. Enjoy it while we can, August will be here before we know it!
