(Apr-10-2012) Okay, if you’re a sun worshiper and you can’t wait until the first really mellow sunshiny day on the beach…I mean, the first really “ah, let’s go get some sun” type of day, we had a doozy of a weekend this past Easter! To heck with the canopies or umbrellas, sun screens with 15 to 30 spf, let’s just get out au naturale and go for it…apply that tanning stuff ALL OVER! We all do it, right? So, later, at the end of the day, how great did that shower feel over that scorched skin? And, how cold did you feel later before going to bed? My husband, for instance, came out after his shower with a long-sleeved t-shirt and sweat pants, laid on the sofa under a throw blanket and passed out before 9:00 p.m. He, same guy, was also weary because every muscle hurt from throwing a frisbee (running when he missed it) with our son…See, we go a bit crazy with this beach, sunny, frisbee, no-sunblock-time-of-year. I venture to say, that by Memorial Day, we will all have come to our senses and The Big Store will be running out of sunblock. Stock up!
GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you.
