Yipes! Our plan was to spend one week in Rhode Island and see sites from here and Connecticut. What could there be to see in two of the smallest states in America? Wrong! RR has been working on sites for us to visit this morning. So far, if we stay two weeks we may make most of them. I looked at the list and did not find one place to take off and we have not even looked at the Connecticut Visitors Travel Book. “Recalculate,” as That Machine says. We are staying in a lovely RV park in Hope Valley, RI, the site is just 30 minutes out of Providence and maybe 15 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean. There are two museums on Sailing Ships and one on the famous shipbuilder Herreshoff. There are four mansions we both want to see and then you throw in several lighthouses.
That’s just the beginning! What a state. I am sure we will have to narrow it down some as we will need time to try RI clam chowder in every restaurant in Port Judy, Newport, Charlestown, and let’s not forget Providence. Then again, RR found me a Mexican cafe just eleven miles from here. What to do?
I must say I am so happy to be back in shorts and T- shirts, the weather is much warmer here, just 350 miles south. Oh how I love that word, South. To me that word means Mexican food, Green Sauce, and BLUE BELL! These people have no idea what good ice cream is, but I’m not going to tell them, that could start another rebellion.
