Sleeping on the couch

By Georgia Osten
I don’t know if I’ve ever told you, but the whole idea around adding on to this house was so everyone would have a bed. No sleeping on the floor, no having to bring your travel trailer, plugging in and sleeping in the driveway! Okay, that being said, knowing our son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Camber, were coming down for the weekend, AND bringing two of their friends, Brandon and Jerry, I asked which bedrooms would each like to occupy so I could have “the maid” make up their rooms. Obviously, there is no maid, that’s why I put it in quotes, get it? So, anyway, the answer I get from Camber is that Brandon will probably sleep at The Wheel, Ha Ha. You see, Brandon likes some girl at The Wheel, but he can never remember her name, so he just makes up a name. Matthew tells me Jerry will probably sleep on the couch with NO SHEETS! He knows that’s one of my pet peeves! Again, Ha Ha.

Friday and Saturday nights, they all go to The Wheel…I don’t think I’ve ever been there, but I’m thinking one of these days I should, but after working at The Crab Festival all weekend, this was NOT one of those nights. Long story short, I wake up Sunday morning, go on out into the big room to make a cup of coffee, and who do you think I see sleeping on the couch WITHOUT sheets and using one of the throw pillows for his head?? You got it – Brandon! Why didn’t he just stay at The Wheel??

GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you.
