I love it, soon, I’ll be a Grandma for the 5th time! My youngest daughter, Kelly, is expecting her 3rd in February. She has a girl and a boy and we don’t want to know what this one is. Wait, did I say “we?” Listen to me, the last time I went to visit my sweet daughter, she took me to the ultrasound and I got to see the baby! The Technician carefully moved the wand ever so slowly,
I was all in anticipation (thinking I knew what the heck I was looking at). All of a sudden, she shuts the machine off and says “okay, that’s it!” I said, “but wait, I didn’t get to see anything.” “Mom’s rules,” she said. Geez!
So, this weekend, a friend of Kelly gave her a baby shower in North Carolina. I wasn’t expected to come to the shower, seeing as how I had just been there a month ago. My oldest daughter, Leigh, and family friend, Mel, were the only Texas family scheduled to attend. But at the last minute, Surprise Surprise, my oldest granddaughter and I decided to go! We all arrived at the tiny airport in North Carolina. The surprise guests, Emma and I, lagged behind a minute before stepping out into the receiving area. I thought we were all going to have to mop up the tears before we finally left the airport! My little girl was so excited to have her Niece and her Mom there, and I was tickled pink…or blue?!
As we were walking out to the car (thinking, how are we all going to fit), Kelly says, “do ya’ll have a hotel?”
That’s my girl!
p.s. I slept out on the couch, Addyson joined me at 6am the next morning … Ah, Heaven!
