Rollover Bash & Dash is a clean, family-oriented event that is designed to draw people from all of Southeast Texas for the purpose of enjoying what Rollover Pass has to offer. This fun-filled day will bring needed attention to the mission of the Gilchrist Community Association and the threat of losing a Texas treasure. Jenesis Events LLC and Gilchrist Community Association bring you Rollover Bash & Dash, September 7th, 2013. A day of fun for the entire family. The day will be filled with fun activities for the children in all of us. Day-long activities will be available and include, but not limited to – horse shoes, fishing, volleyball, washer boards, food, drinks, inflatables, vendors, music by Q94 / KD101, bonfire and more.
Children are the most important part of this day, for they will remember the Pass as a magical place where they became a champion and found a treasure too! At 10 am, children under 12 will participate in Kids “K”haos, a kids 1K beach obstacle-run that will finish with a real buried treasure hunt. Every child will be presented with an award medal that identifies them as a champion as well as the slogan “Don’t Pass on our Future…Save Rollover!” They will also be given the opportunity to run alongside their parents in the nighttime beach run.
At 8pm, the adults will don GLOW gear and head to the start line where they will embark upon a 3.5 mile nighttime beach run. The course is well-marked with LED batons/poles, military chemical lights and torches. The beach will look like space aliens have invaded the Texas coastline as hundreds of tiny glowing lights make their way from start to finish at a 4 mile per hour pace, a beautiful sight for sure. All runners will receive glow gear and a commemorative shirt that identifies them as a finisher of the run that helped save Rollover Pass.
