I KNEW there was a reason for my reason to quit drinking five years ago when all of a sudden, while riding the Galveston Ferry, a PINK, and I mean PINK Dolphin rolled out in the water in front of me. FOR, IF I had still been a drinker and had seen this weird, but wonderful sight I probably wouldn’t be reporting this now!
Last Thursday evening though, at around 5 pm, while riding the Ferry from Galveston to Bolivar, and as we were pulling out from Sea Wolf Park area into the ship channel, a PINK Dolphin rolled not 20 yards in front of me. This unusual critter was accompanied by a normal colored Dolphin.
But shame, shame, shame on me, even though I did have my camera in hand at the time I wasn’t quick enough to capture the image. SOOoooo, All I can do now is ALERT you to the fact that out in the Galveston Ship Channel there is a PINK, and I do mean PINK Dolphin out there some where!
NOTE: on the same day, another reader saw Pinky and snapped this picture. (photo by Sid Jackson)
I just saw pinkie too!!!! I am sooo excited to see a pinkie here!!!
On the ferry now and just saw the pink dolphin riding the wake in front of a cargo ship!!! What a fun thing to see:)))
While pulling away from the Bolivar side on the ferry about 5:55 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2012 I saw the pink dolphin swimming along side another one too! I was very skeptical of the reports I had heard. I was so happy to see the pink dolphin for myself.
