Jason Pettit’s 3 on the Ninth hole at the Ranch was good for all the cash Tuesday in the Par-3 Tourney. Pettit, whose playing time has been drastically reduced since the birth of his daughter, credits the Par-3 contests at the Ranch for improving his short game.
On Thursday, Mike VanZandt shot 41 to edge Mike Comeaux by a stroke on the regulation course. Sunday’s scramble saw VanZandt and Navy aviator Deuce Ferguson edge a talented field by two strokes. VanZandt also captured the closest to the pin cash on Holes 3 and 8.
On a sad note, the improvement in Head Golf Pro Mike Mitchell’s game following the demise of the driver formerly known as “Blue Thunder” was short lived. Mitchell is expected to seek help from Tiger Woods former Coach Hank Haney at Hank Haney’s Golf Ranch at Vista Ridge next week in Dallas.
