The First Annual Memorial Day Washers Tournament was a huge success! Sponsored by Margie Falgout of Peace, Love and Bikini’s, the tournament was held on the beach Sunday in front of Sandpiper subdivision. Thirty-two teams came together to vie for the $500 1st Place Award. Some of the same teams we’ve seen before at the Texas Crab Festival or the 4th of July Washers Bash last year: TWITA-Norm, Dolla Ten, you name ’em, they were all out there, beer in one hand washers in the other. Jordan Kirwin was presiding again with his bull horn and Sharpee, keeping score and announcing winners. With Margie’s enthusiasm, this event was bound to be a hit! She had the music blasting, the boudin cooking and T’s hanging from the canopy to celebrate her shop. With Margie jumping around from team to team, you couldn’t help but get caught up in the excitement! She is pictured below with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
Stay tuned for the July 4th Bash, sign up early and start practicing. Margie is contributing prize money to this one, too. 1st Place will be $1000!
