Anyone who has seen him play knows that John Milby is likely to shoot par or better any time he tees it up. That’s why inquiring minds want to know if Milby is sandbagging to keep up interest in the Tues/Thurs 5:00 event. Look for the course record 1-over-par 28 to fall soon. Milby took his second par 3 title of the week with a lackluster 32 that cashed a skin on the 2nd hole. Mike Comeaux’s 34 included a par-skin on the first hole. Pitiful putting Mike VanZandt chipped in for a birdie from 30 yards out for a rare skin on his way to a 36 with no pars on his scorecard. David Buchanan shot 35, Paul Williams and Shannon O’Brien joined VanZandt at 36, and Dabney Harrison hacked his way to a 38.
Comeaux extends Streak of Wins to Three
Mike Comeaux’s team of Jason Pettit, Howard Porteous, and Mitchell P shot 31 to win the Sunday Scramble by one shot over Shannon O’Brien, Sweet Charlie B, Lance Ferguson and Gary Korry and Gay Richardson, Dabney Harrison, Sonny Wong and Patti Atkins. Mike Mitchell, Bob, Joe C, and Will Armstrong were one shot back at 3 under par. John Milby took Robert, Dennis, and Joe M but only managed a one under 35.
