We arrived a bit late, but our canvas was already set up for us. Probably 30 people were assembled around the high-top tables inside Hardheads Icehouse & Grill. The party was hosted by Painting With a Twist, Donna & Jerry Mittendorf. Each canvas had the image penciled on our pallet, a paper plate with a glop of each color of paint we’ll be using, we’re given 3 different brushes and a big cup of water for rinsing our brushes. The “ARTISTS” take us through each step, starting with the sky, then the water, then the sand dunes, and on and on to the lighthouse and adjoining house. What fun! You can’t help ad libbing a bit as your imagination takes on a life of its own.
The Artists will tell you when it’s time to dunk your brush to clean it off. Oh dear, I accidentally dunked mine in my wine glass … I did tell you this event was held at Hardheads didn’t I?? It’s all good, Jason was there to dump my wine glass and give me another libation.
