First off, the people are really nice people. Very patriotic people, speak before spoken to and very honest people. When we first got here I noticed the news is so different from Houston, it was boring. After a few days I discovered why, they do not have crime here! There has been one murder since we arrived six weeks ago and I must say that was state wide news. People do not lock their doors, they leave their keys under the seat or floor mat, Really! Do you remember doing that too? I do but it was a very long time ago. The news is no longer boring, I am enjoying the positive reports on health and helping others. Way to go Maine!
Last week while driving toward the bay, there was a sign, Redemption Center. I had seen this before on another road so I finally said something to RR about the name of a new church. Thought the man was going to have a wreck, after the laughter stopped, he said, Charlotte that is a recycling center, Well Why Did They Not Call It That!! I thought it was a new name for a church. Also, on the statues with Yankee’s on them, they call the Civil “War” a rebellion! You people need to understand this was a serious war not a rebellion.
The trees are starting to turn but I know we will not be here long enough for RR to see the real beauty that comes in a month or so. We leave here on the 9th of September for Rhode Island for a week and then over to Connecticut for another week. Of course, all of this is contingent on the weather, first freeze and I am out of here.
Found our second Mexican cafe today, Yea!
