AA meetings are now available on the peninsula three nights a week to eliminate the need for riding the ferry and driving further distances to organized gatherings. If you are interested, or know someone who should be interested, the meetings are held Monday and Thursday evenings, beginning at 7:00 pm and Saturday evening, beginning at 8:00 pm. The group meets at the Bolivar Peninsula Cultural Foundation (the green house) just across from Crenshaw School on Highway 87. Please come out and get the help you need.
Congratulations to Catherine Jackson Prieur who was the big winner as Teacher of the Year for the entire Galveston County Independent School District. Our hats off to Catherine who works very hard to see that the students of Crenshaw School located on the Bolivar Peninsula get what they deserve and an education that will help them to be contributing citizens for the rest of their lives. She also knows how to enlist volunteers and community support for her projects.
Get well wishes to one of our own CBLN columnists Cindy Srader who was rushed back to the hospital after a recent eight-day stay. The doctors ran many tests and believe Cindy suffered a TIA. Our prayers are with her and we are praying for a complete recovery.
Welcome home to Debbie Valentine as she comes back to the peninsula after a ten-day visit with her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren in San Diego.
Congratulations to Rusty and Becky Cluck’s daughter, Skye and her husband Gutter Allen, who were married in a beautiful ceremony on Saturday, May 19th.
Welcome home, Pam Adams. The beach has missed you.
Congratulations to all of our graduates who call Bolivar Peninsula home.
Happy Memorial Day and let’s remember why we celebrate this day.
