Love is in the Air

Especially on my street, that is!

The Florida family returned to the beach from their RV-ing to all national parks on and around the western United States. Leigh and Paul picked them up from the airport on Friday and they all came to the beach house for the weekend. Oh my, how the noise level increased! The house was pulsing with activity.

The happy campers entertained us with their stories as well as the last couple of days of their vacation spent in, where else, Las Vegas! I know you can relate to the wonderful sights and sounds of Las Vegas, the Strip and the Fremont Experience. Addyson, Michael and Dax were up for a little eye-opening treat so to speak. As they were all standing around at the Bellagio waiting for the fountain to get going, Addyson was surprised, or shall I say, “shocked out of her skin,” when Chuckles the Clown casually came up and put his arm around her. Talk about “screaming bloody murder!”

On Saturday, there was a bit of a fund-raiser, a lemonade stand. Aunt Leigh sort of ramrodded the event, or shall I say, “funded the event.” Poster boards for signs, water jugs and lemonade mix, and Addyson made about six batches of cookies – Two for $1.

This is how the whole infatuation began. Our two grandsons manned the sales. Excuse me for saying, I know I may be a little prejudiced, but they’re a mighty handsome couple of boys at the ages of almost 14 and 12. Golf cart after golf cart of young girls, I’m assuming around similar ages, kept coming back for more lemonade and cookies. We had the “Conroe” girls and the “Katy” girls and who-knows-where-else girls.

After the lemonade stand shut down, we all went to set up on the beach. The pursuit continued. By the end of the day, even after we were back home enjoying the pool, the girls kept coming back. By this time, everyone knew everyone’s names. Before we all went in for the night, phone numbers were exchanged, and the texting continued. They even found each other again on Sunday before “Katy and Conroe and whomever” went back home.

Summertime is a great time for a little fling. Especially at the beach! I’m sure we can all remember those special heartwarming times in our lives.

All You Need is Love!
