Just as soon as Daylight Savings goes into effect, I find it to be a real shocker. I knew it was going to happen, but didn’t stop to realize we needed to set the clocks ahead an hour until we were in bed Saturday night. It sure didn’t make getting up the next morning any easier either. It was still dark at 7 am when we had to wake up to get ready for church.
As we get into it, maybe in a few weeks, I will begin to love it. I really love that the days last longer. We’ll begin missing Wheel of Fortune because it won’t be dark enough to turn the TV on. Now, I’ll probably still be out in the garden. Of course, dinner will be late because who wants to come in and fix it??
We’ll get to bed later because we’ll need that extra relaxing time sitting out on the deck. Which will make us unable to wake up at a reasonable time and we’ll begin arriving late for work. We let the kids play outside until it’s dark and bathing the kids will be later because we won’t make them come inside – Oops, that’s been quite awhile ago…never mind. Anyway, I will grow to love it, it won’t take long, especially because it’s the beginning of Spring – flowers to grow, lawns to mow, mosquitoes to swat!

GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you.
