It is a rare sight to see a house crossing the bay, but that is exactly what happened on Monday. George McMillan, of McMillan Building Movers, and Wayne Mouton, of Peninsula Marine, teamed up to move a 2,000 square foot house from its homesite on Offatts Bayou in Galveston over to Bolivar. McMillan saved this home from the wrecking ball since the property was acquired to expand the Sea Scout Base in Galveston. He plans to restore the home on his property in Port Bolivar at the corner of Loop 108 and Broadway. “I hope to spend Christmas in it, maybe.”
