On Wednesday, 5 June, Black & Veatch professionals Rishi Moghe and Alex Torres were fatally injured near a project site in Bolivar, Texas. Both were based in BV’s office in Houston, Texas, where they were admired and respected by their fellow employee-owners.
Rishi Moghe worked for BV for more than 18 years including serving as the Houston office leader. He also was a professional engineer and an Associate Vice President and Project Director in Grid Solutions for the U.S. South-Central Region. Outside of his work, Rishi enjoyed jogging, gardening, traveling, cooking and spending time with his wife and son. His son Rohan hopes to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a civil engineer.
Alex Torres, a professional engineer, joined the company in November 2022 and served as Project Manager in Grid Solutions. He had more than 24 years of experience in engineering. Alex enjoyed spending time with his wife and two daughters and worked hard every day for them. He loved baseball, traveling and going to the beach.

This was such a a tragic and needless death of two hard working men trying to help Bolivar. I pray for their families and their coworkers. I hope justice prevails and the driver responsible held accountable.
