I Love Paper!

As an Old Bookkeeper, Accounting Manager, CFO – (I)I love paper. Since my first day of work, I realized the importance of keeping all paper of all transactions put away and filed. All bills paid, approved, kept together and filed. All work was viewed by auditors and examiners and filed along with their reports. I love paper. You get my drift? I have loved paper for years. Now it is time to get rid of all this paper, time to put seven years of IRS stuff on a jump drive – shred or burn all this paper. Now it is time for me to take all that paper from purchasing everything I’ve ever owned and put it on a jump drive and – see above. But I love paper. Do you have any idea how much room I’ll have in that extra large safety deposit box now? Oh well, next year when it comes time to renew the box, I can save some money.

There are some things I am not scanning and getting rid of, such as our marriage license, discharge papers for all the family members from years back and cemetery plot certificates at six different cemeteries. Not ready for it yet, I love paper.

This past weekend, I finished the last of the bill payments and statements to go online – really scary and very hard to do. After all, I love paper. We will be leaving shortly, and the nice mail ladies would hurt me if I didn’t get rid of some of this paper. All but one of my magazine subscriptions are now on line. That was really hard to do. I love paper.

Well, as you read this, it’s NOT on paper, so I guess this is okay too. I know I can do this, I just know I can. BUT, I still have my trusty atlas map for the road. You never know when that thing on the dash, or the lady speaking to you from the Map App on our smart phone will decide to not work.

Have a great week.
