Ho! Ho! Ho!

No, I’m not crazy …
Well, yes, I am probably. Crazy about Christmas!
I had the day off Monday, and I was so full of energy. Big weekend, mega shopping on Saturday, then Galveston on Sunday. Church, breakfast, Farmer’s Market and lastly, Home Depot for mulch. An upcoming project – laying mulch. Izzy cleaned up my garden for me, Bless her Heart! If you ever need a reliable, reasonable gardener, just give me a shout. I can finally see what’s in my garden and it’s lovely. I trimmed the Pride of Barbados, it usually freezes every winter, but I heard we’ll have a mild winter this year. Hope so! Eight bags of mulch to put down, that ought to make it look especially nice. All my plants are responding well with the cooler weather.

A little rest between projects and I was ready to tackle a bit of decorating. If you know me well, my rest consists of a sit-down at the computer with my games. I switch back and forth between Backgammon and Spades. I’m at the expert level with Spades, hard level for Backgammon. When the back feels better, I’m off to the next project.

Today’s major project was decorating. I had this new idea for the loft and I was eager to see how it would all come together. When my husband rigs up the extension cords and stuff, I’ll get a picture to include. It’s going to be just the basic, I still need to add some garland and the Christmas stockings. I’m super excited about this Christmas because everyone will be here on Christmas Day. First time in – oh my goodness, I can’t remember when.

Our sweet fur-baby had to go see Dr. Matak, Winnie Vet. She’s been favoring her left leg ever since our road trip earlier this month. A couple of x-rays and a new prescription, arthritis. Cha-Ching$$! Yep, that’s our girl all right, getting old just like us! Tomorrow’s her birthday, 11 years old.

Oh, I read an excellent book, Women by Kristin Hannah, a birthday present from my daughter-in-law, passed it on to my daughter. If you get a chance to read it, you’ll love it. Please pass along any “good reads” you’ve enjoyed. I don’t know about you, but I must have another book ready to pick up when I finish one. Reading a Daniel Steele right now while I wait for a sequel to Perfect Couple to be delivered.

Back to work tomorrow, good thing, I need a rest.
