A new resident of the Peninsula. Monday morning, at about 7:30, as Rob and Charlotte were sitting on their deck having coffee, this lovely episode took place. Daddy Donkey was very concerned because Mommy Donkey decided to lay down for a bit. Not understanding, he kept nipping at her neck to try to get her to stand up. Mommy finally got up, very irritated with Daddy and all of a sudden, duh, Daddy realized what was going on…new Daddies can be a little slow at times. Mommy walked around in slow circles and Daddy followed her every step: the baby donkey was beginning to be born. Mommy laid down again briefly and out came the rest of the baby!
Mommy licked and licked to free the baby’s head and front legs and the baby tried to stand, but fell. So Mommy licked and licked to free the baby’s hind feet. Robbie & Charlotte followed the entire birthing process. Declaring themselves the proud Godparents, they have named this wobbly creature with the long floppy ears “Little May,” born approx. 8:15 Monday morning.
Happy Birthday Young Lady!
So excited for the new Godparents.
May is the luckiest baby to have Charlotte and Robbie for Godparents, they are both blessings to our Bolivar family. Carlis and Charles Cole
