United Methodist Women (UMW) and Second Going Resale Store find happiness in giving. They bring joy by providing a plethora of gifts to others. Members of UMW created almost 100 Vacation Bible Bags filled with markers to color the bags, books, games and, of course, some sweets. Elinor Tinsley carried many of them to Fran Griffin at Second Going Resale Store. Workers gave them to the children who came into Second Going. All the youngsters were so thrilled with their gifts that Elinor delivered more bags to the store.
UMW members also wanted to show gratitude to local school employees. Pastor Valerie Hudson and Elinor Tinsley stocked Crenshaw’s teachers lounge with snacks and treats for August. UMW ladies will be delivering a snack basket for all employees of Crenshaw School to enjoy the second Tuesday of each month. UMW also plan to continue their annual Teacher Appreciation Week luncheon in May, 2023. Fran Griffin brought happiness to many educators when she delivered $100 gift cards to every teacher in High Island School District and Crenshaw School. Now instructors can buy items to meet individual class needs.
All recipients were gracious in thanking these organizations for their many gifts. UMW, BPCF and Second Going definitely found HAPPINESS IN GIVING!
