The 5th annual Crawfish Boil will be held at Rollover Pass on May 30th. Crawfish plates will be sold for $12/plate and include potatoes and corn! The Gilchrist Community Association is accepting donations to help defray the cost of crawfish or contributions to help assist with the legal fund. If you are able to help with any amount, please send your check to GCA Crawfish Boil/PO Box 186/High Island, TX 77623. All proceeds will be going to our Legal Defense Fund.
As of May 1st, the Federal law suit final briefs have been filed and we are currently waiting for Federal Judge Costa to make a determination. At the county and state level, the County did make an offer to purchase Rollover Pass, but the amount was very low. The Gilchrist Community Association turned down the offer because they are not interested in selling the land and want to keep the fishing tradition of Rollover Pass open for all to use! To sum up,
ROLLOVER PASS IS OPEN AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS STATE ARE ENJOYING GREAT FISHING!!!
