Board games, card games, Las Vegas, washers, you name it, I love them all! I guess I was deprived as a child, I don’t remember playing games with my family, except for my step-brothers teaching me poker and Booray. I “married into” a game playin’ family indeed! Even when we moved away from the family to California and had a group over for dinner and drinks, my husband would pull out the Trivial Pursuit game for all to play. I’m not sure they enjoyed it, but they always came back the next time they were invited.
To this day, new members to the family, a couple of sons-in law and a daughter-in-law, all realize what they’ve “married into.” We know exactly which game each will play or endure with a little coaxing. We’ve even cultivated a few friends who love to play games, man are they competitive! I’ve learned new games from them and ‘Rush’ to Amazon the next day to order my own. Sometimes, when it’s just my husband and me, we’ll play our running game of Rummy, but most of the time we play Scrabble and I let him win.
GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you.
