What a fun way to spend a hot Sunday afternoon! Grab the family and some $$ and come on down to the Eagles Hall for a rousing few games of BINGO. The brewskies are flowing and the numbers are popping. I’ll probably be banned from entering after last Sunday. It’s only the second time I’ve played up here at the Eagles, the first time was at least a month ago.
I remember the old bingo days at the old Crystal Beach Fire Station where G’s is now. That was back in the 70’s! We’d take Leigh Bottom with us to play. She was just two or three back then. Oh what a hoot. I don’t remember ever winning, but we sure had a lot of fun!
Anyway, about a month ago, I brought my daughter and three grands with me. About halfway through the games, Dax won! He had to share the win with one other person, that’s okay, $37.50 is a lot of money to an 8 year old.
This time, a bunch of us went, my daughter, my son-in-law, my 3 grands again, and my son-in-law’s parents from San Antonio. I call the other Grandma “Bookend.” It’s a long story, but we’ve been calling each other “Bookend” forever. Michael went to the Eagles bar and brought back enough beers to get us through all eight games, and the blackout. Game 4 or so, my other grandson, Michael, won all by himself, didn’t have to split the $75! Whoopee! By the way, $75 is whole lot of money to an 11 year old!
Time for the blackout, we all purchased extra cards for this one. The game went on and on. The caller asked if anyone was getting close? A unanimous YES from the crowd. I, myself, was down to only one. My Granddaughter, Addyson, was down to only one. Finally, the caller called I-24! Bookend, yelled BINGO! And, no one else yelled, she won it fair and square, a full $300!
