Fun-Packed Weekend

By Georgia Osten
To get my weekend started off right, I took Friday off. Spent my day shopping. Nothing necessary, except for a flu shot (long overdue). I’ve been doing this since 1991, no side effects, except for a sore arm. That’s okay, I’m a big girl, I can handle a little discomfort. Before that, I did my regular stops, UTMB Pharmacy, the car wash, WalMart, Dillard’s, Sam’s & then Kroger. It was a long day, caught the 5:30 pm ferry for home.

Weekend visitors – We visited a nephew and his wife and their 9-month-old baby boy, JP! What an armful! Happy to see another whole new generation of beach lovers. We have a few of our own, hopefully they’ll carry on the tradition.

I know it’s only been a few weeks since the Florida kids went back home, but we’ve been planning this trip for a while now. Yep, we’re off to Florida later this week for a long weekend. I’ll have plenty to tell you all when I return. I think our oldest granddaughter will have a Crew Regatta and the boys will have baseball games to attend.

Maezy got a bath yesterday and I broke in the new clippers on all that hair. She wasn’t a fan, but after several attempts, I managed to get a lot of extra fur cut off. We haven’t been on a road trip for some time now, we’ll be sure to bring the tranquilizers just in case.

After church yesterday, then breakfast, then the farmer’s market, we drove on over to Post Office and 23rd for the Arts & Crafts show which covered 4 blocks downtown. We saw several of our Crab Fest vendors. This was a judged entry and I’m happy to say, several of our cream of the crop made the cut. Patty Hagstrom was there of course and our friend, Ross with Primordial Persuasions. Yes, of course, we bought another fish from Ross! Monica & David of The Glass Tattoo were there.
