It is with great sadness that We announce the passing of our sweet Mother, Frankie Jurline (Jerrie) Peel Scheeler. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the age of 88 at Ascension Seton Hays hospital in Kyle, TX surrounded by her Family after complications from pneumonia. Jerrie was born on November 05, 1935 in San Augustine County, TX to Prentis and Winnie (Dickerson) Roebuck. She grew up with her loving sisters, Sally, Mary, Katy, Jimmie, and Reba. Jerrie graduated from Vidor High School and spent her professional career as an office administrator in Southeast TX. She retired in 2000 spending the next 20+ years at her favorite place, Crystal Beach, TX while enjoying quality time with her sisters Mary, Jimmie, and Reba, as well as Family and friends.
Jerrie will be lovingly remembered by her son, Steven (Windy) Prewitt and her daughters Debbie Prewitt Vernon, Lois Caffey-Kuykendall and husband Mark; her grandsons, Chad Borne and wife Kelly, Steven Vernon, and Jason Pyles; her great grandson Dawson Pyles, great granddaughters Kaitlin and Kristina Borne, and Bailey and Lindsey Borne; her great-great grandson Krew Miller and great-great granddaughter Gracie Ann Pyles. She will be missed by her numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Sally, Mary, Katy, and Jimmie; and her grandsons Brian Travis Borne and Jacob Lee Vernon.
She spent her last year and a half near the Texas Hill Country in Kyle. She lived at Legend Oaks Healthcare where She saw her daughters regularly and participated in many activities including arts & crafts, singing, and her favorite being BINGO. She befriended many and was loved by all; especially her therapists and staff, who lovingly kept her days active, busy, and engaging. We were told about AND witnessed her “ROCK STAR” status.
We will honor our Mother’s wishes by having a Celebration of Life sometime in the next several months at her favorite place, Crystal Beach, Texas.
