Redfish action is on going and getting better with lots of slot and Bulls being caught. Flounder bite is starting to improve with limits being caught off the bay side bulkheads. The long awaited Golden Croaker run is heating up with several Bull croaker to 15 inches being caught. The first run of Gulf Trout (Silver Trout) is starting to show up in the cut. These are not sand trout but the much larger and tastier Gulf Trout that will average 2 lbs when the run is in full swing. My largest Gulf trout was caught 10 yrs ago and weighed in at 6 lbs.
Speckled Trout
Slow but picking up with the cooling weather and waters. The bay should see great birding action soon and the surf action will improve when the surf cools (Limit: 15 inches minimum for 10 trout with only one over 25 inch trout per day allowed as part of your daily limit).
Redfish (Red Drum)
HOT and getting HOTTER as the cool weather is pushing more shrimp and croaker out of the bays and through the pass (Limit: 20 inches minimum to 28 inch maximum for 3 reds per day- one over 28 inch red -plus bonus red- allowed when properly tagged in addition to your 3 fish limit).
Black Drum
Surprisingly the drum are running again with lots of keeper eater drum filling anglers creels (Limit: 14 inch minimum to 30 inch maximum for 5 fish per day with one OVER 52 inches allowed).
Flounder
Slow but improving with each cooling tide (Limit: 14 inch minimum for 5 fish per day).
Sheepshead
SLOW (Limit: 15 inch minimum with 5 per day Creel).
Gafftop Catfish
Slow with sporadic runs of good gaffs still happening (Limit: 14 inch minimum for no limit creel).
Whiting/Croaker
Whiting are great but the GOLDEN croaker are in and running amok (No Limits).
Sandtrout/Gulftrout
Sandies are good but the Gulf trout are beginning to show up (No Limits).
Blue Claw Crab
Slow (Limit: 5 inches between points with no berry crabs (females with eggs) allowed).
Stone Crabs
A few stones coming in from the rocky areas (Limit: only right claw may be kept when 2-1/2 inches above first knuckle).
