Previous week provided both good and bad weather conditions with the good activating the flounder run and the bad stalling the run. But that’s how it goes folks. We need those chill downs to get the flounder off their beds and through the cut. This last front managed to get a few of the larger females moving and with this next front due Monday the females should take the hint and start their main spawn run. Redfish and trout have been incredible with great night-shift action on specks and redfish action with dayshift anglers hooking up. The word is that the bay is full of flounder so this next cool-down should get ’em moving.
Speckled Trout
Great night-shift action for specks under lights. Bird action in the bay is definitely on with night and surf action providing great catches to 7 lbs. (Limit: 15inch minimum for 10 trout with only one 25 inch trout per day allowed as part of your daily limit).
Redfish (Red Drum)
The redfish have been simply amazing here at the pass with good numbers of slot and bulls coming in (Limit: 20 inches minimum to 28 inch maximum for 3 reds per day- one over 28inch red -plus bonus red- allowed when properly tagged in addition to your 3 fish limit).
Black Drum
Good drum action for those keeper eaters and bulls (Limit: 14 inch minimum to 30 inch maximum for 5 fish per day with one OVER 52 inches allowed).
Flounder
Steady action for the flounder with a few of the larger females beginning to show up (Limit: 14 inch minimum for 2 fish per day November limit).
Sheepshead
Steady sheeps but not really a run on them (Limit: 15 inch minimum with 5 per day Creel).
Gafftop Catfish
Slow, but some nice keepers coming in (Limit: 14 inch minimum for no limit creel).
Whiting/Croaker
Big Bull whiting in the cut and the surf as well as the intracoastal. The croaker run is all but over (No Limits).
Sandtrout/Gulftrout
Good sandies in the cut (No Limits).
Blue Claw Crab
CRABBING Beginning to slow (Limit: 5 inches between points with no berry crabs (females with eggs) allowed).
Stone Crabs
A few stones coming in from the rocky areas (Limit: only right claw may be kept when 2-1/2 inches above first knuckle).
