Fishing Report For June 3 through June 10, 2013

By Ed Snyder/Outdoors
Summary:  From awesome to rutroh to awesome to rutroh again from sunshine to gale force winds to dancing tornadic waterspouts then back to sunshine again this past week.  Rough weather and strong storms dominated the bite. But as of pm Sunday winds were light and northerly with clearing surf.  Hopefully, the fishing excitement we normally see at the pass will return.  Sunday afternoon was enjoyed watching a pod of porpoise playing and surfing the waves out front in the Gulf- WOW!! Is all I can say about those intelligent critters- AWESOME!!

    Please don’t publish my email.

I am interested in learning how to fish for flounder. Can you please explain what the “8, 7, 6.5 and two 5’s” mean in this article. Would also love any info you can give to help a newbie get started–like where do I go to catch flounder if I don’t have a b oat (yet)?
    thanks

When weather and tides allow flounder are very good with an 8, 7, 6.5, and two 5′s caught these past 2 weeks.(14 inch minimum for 5 fish per day)-
