The Crystal Beach Fraternal Order of Eagles enjoyed a triple celebration on Saturday. Many eagles and community members gathered to kick off Octoberfest with brats and biers, as well as to honor the 45th Anniversary of the FOE in Crystal Beach. The celebrating continued into the afternoon as they dedicated the Dr. Peggy and Howard Coghlan Community Center, named for the Coughlans, esteemed citizens of Longview, Texas. The addition to the original building was completed in 2020 but the dedication has been delayed due to Covid. The center has already housed community lectures, wedding receptions, charity bingo, and other functions thanks to generous donations and fundraising around the community. Once a generator is installed, the Coghlan center will also serve as a shelter during power outages. Congratulations and Cheers to the FOE on 45 years!
