Pct. 1 Commissioner Ryan Dennard has announced the agenda for the Bolivar Community Meeting to be held on Tuesday, October 22, 7:00 pm at the JP Courtroom, 946 Noble Carl Dr. in Crystal Beach. Agenda:
– Galveston County’s recently adopted FY2014 Budget
– Emergency Services District Sales Tax Election
– Updates on Capital Improvement Projects (outfall culverts, wastewater, generators, etc.)
– Parks improvements
– Redistricting of justice precincts
– Rollover Pass
– Workforce Housing
It is the STATE that is wanting and paying for the closure, not Dennard. Looks like the State has dropped the bay side pier as they have spent too much money in litigation. I have seen no study to refute the beach is washing away because of Rollover and it costs 1M/yr. to dredge the Intercostal Canal. There are lots of people down here that want it closed for that reason, not because Gilchrest folks packed the Meeting.
It was a pretty good meeting. Not everybody heard what they wanted to hear but…
What do you mean Rustedwood? What was discussed? Thanks,
I plan on being there, and hope more will come to hear his answers.
James,
Please send me an email telling me what happened at the meeting as I can’t come
Tim
Why isn’t Ryan Dennard doing what the people want. The closeing of rollover pass is terrible. It should be fixed up as a park with the pass still open and the proper breakwaters installed. The breakwater work in Galveston bay’s main entrance thats why there is a north and south jetty?
