The Lighthouse was built in 1872 and towers 117 ft. above sea level. It guided mariners for 61 years and was retired in 1933 when it was replaced by the South Jetty light. With the kids out of school, and parents teaching class, Bolivar LIVE wants to help with History Class! Have the kids listen in, they’ll learn about Fort Travis and be able to walk through the fortifications and see history from the inside out. Four Batteries remain intact at Fort Travis. Follow the aerial views of the Fort, and take a 3D walking tour of Battery 236. Enjoy.
