Several teams from the Bolivar Peninsula took part in the “D’FEET” CANCER RUN/WALK in Galveston, Texas. This annual event occurred this year on October 27. Team BOLIVAR CELEBRATION was created under the leadership of Mary Ellen Smith. Despite heavy winds, eighteen people participated in the 5K Walk. The group happily walked all, or most of, the distance. They celebrated after the event with good food and drink.
Congratulations go to Mary Ellen Smith for creating a team and doing all the paper work necessary to enter this event. She also provided special pink headbands for the participants.
