It’s beginning to look a lot like the end of Summer. I mean, we just had the Regatta, everyone and their catamaran turned out for the race around the rig, down to the shipwreck and back around the rig back to the beach. What a fun and exciting event! Not for the weak of heart. Next is the barbecue cookoff at the Port Bolivar Fire Station. Lots of cookers, many locals and those who think they can come on over and cook against our Locals. Make time to come buy a plate and enjoy the fine desserts prepared by all those Bolivarites!
Are you ready for some cool Gulf water and maybe a cold front or two before Halloween? I can’t wait for the first announcement of a cold front, with a high in the low 70’s.
Are you ready for some smooth sand to drive your golf carts with no donuts cut through the sand? It was almost like that today. Not a lot of traffic and the sand close to the water was smooth as silk.
Are you ready for some hummingbirds? I saw on Facebook there have already been hummingbird sightings. If it’s on Facebook, it must be true. I’m going to put my feeders out when I’m through writing my little story. I’ll let you know.
Along with the end of Summer, our rain showers should increase. I know the sloughs and our yards will be ready for some water.
Are you ready to have our grocery store back? No long lines, cruise right through. I think the employees are ready for a break.
Enjoy your few months in Paradise. It’ll go by quickly and hopefully we’ll be ready to share our Little Bit of Heaven.
