Yep, my D-D-D-Dear Bestest Friend in the Whole Wide World just celebrated another trip around the sun. I did remember to tell him Happy Birthday that morning, but it wasn’t until I was on my way to work that I remembered what I wanted to give him for a Birthday Present. As I passed the Kite Store, I pulled out my phone to call Kate. “Kate, I need an American flag, I can’t remember the size, please ask Gunner.” Well, later on that morning she responded and told me they had the right size, but not the same quality in stock. I thought, well, that just won’t do. So, later on that afternoon, I just happened to run into Gunner at the Fire Station. Like a real trooper, Gunner said he thought he might have one in his Bucket Truck. Lo and behold, if he didn’t! So, I went over to the Kite Shop to pay Nicole for the flag.
I wrapped it while he took Maezy to the beach for her evening ritual. Surprise Surprise. Well, he said he was expecting one because I actually mentioned how the American Flag was looking a bit shabby, but that he had a birthday coming up. Geez! I give it away every time.
Anyway, later, we had a nice dinner at Stingaree. We found a $100 gift certificate just laying around, Happy Birthday to both of us! We sat in the bar to wait for our table. Seeing people coming and going and of course, meeting the nicest folks at the bar. It never fails, the bar is the friendliest place in a restaurant, try it sometime. Jeff stopped by to say Hi as he was picking up his to-go meal. When we were called to our table, proceeded to pay the tab at the bar, it was taken care of by an anonymous friend! Holy Cow!
Our waitress was none other than Britney, she’s been working with Brad and Kacey for over 20 years, she’s the tops!
We devoured our meal and, thinking we had room, ordered Bread Pudding to bring home. Lo and behold, the Bread Pudding was comped too! Geez!
It was a lovely evening and so much more! We are always reminded how special a community we live in, we are truly blessed!
