The weather today is bright and sunny, but the weather on my phone says 40% chance of rain beginning around noon. What’s up with all this rain? I’m really not complaining, it’s been one of the coolest July’s we’ve had in quite some time. The mosquitos love it, they’re thriving quite well thanks.
Do you think the crabs care if it’s raining or not? I’m really craving some right now. We recently bought 3 dozen from Joe’s, we only managed to catch 3 in our trap, so 39 crabs isn’t a bad haul! While I was at Joe’s, there was a fellow sitting there cleaning some and I was quite facinated with his method. He cleans them alive, well, they’re really cold, so I guess they don’t feel a thing. I was always concerned about how to kill them and used boiling water, get the water boiling with all the crab boil in there and throw them in. Then, I’d clean them when they cooled down, washing most of the crab boil away. Not anymore! No sirree! Which proves you’re never too old to learn a thing or two.
Back to the weather, I recently posted a picture on Facebook of some campers down on the beach, completely soaked. Comments came rushing in like “If you’re at the beach, even a soggy day is a good day!” Or, “A soggy day at the beach is better than a dry day at work.”
And, here’s to you Sylvia, “c’mon back to the beach, don’t let the rain chase you away, you know you like it here better than back in Beaumont!” Hey girl, you won’t melt!
