So, as I’m sitting here, the first warm day since before Thanksgiving, I’m wishing I wasn’t at work. I’d much rather be out in my garden pulling up weeds and planting some good things. I’ve ventured out to WalMart and their garden department to find some new plants. EVERTHING needs to be replaced. Nothing survived! The three Fiddle Leaf Figs on the front deck perished during the Christmas freeze, along with the hibiscus in the front garden around the stairs. We weren’t here at Christmas, we were in Tampa. I’m so happy we didn’t experience the Christmas dilemma, left without power. Thank goodness everything was still frozen in our fridge when we returned.
Anyway, I’ve started to replant. The gardens look a bit better. I’ve cut back all the hibiscus and Jorge came and took care of the variegated ginger and other dead stuff. I planted more Lily bulbs out front where they will love the sunshine. The other stuff that doesn’t like that much sun, I’ve planted on the other side of the stairs where they will get more shade.
It feels great to get out in the garden again. Not too scary now that it’s all cleaned out. The sunshine is great Nothing like a little Vitamen D.
Spring cleaning too, cleaned all the bathrooms … Well, somebody’s gotta do it!
