Very early this morning an F1 strong tornado roared through Bolivar Peninsula RV Park in Crystal Beach, Texas at around 110 miles an hour. My son, former Army Specialist Drake Sturma and his fiance’, Christina Marie Martinez were staying in the RV Park, while they work on their property they bought on Bolivar Peninsula, Texas, when the tornado ripped through the RV Park rocking their newly bought used travel trailer and flipping a trailer two homes down. Drake Sturma acted quickly and fled to the scene where he pulled two elderly couples from their upside down trailer. They sustained minimal injuries thanks to Drake’s quick thinking. They were all a little shook up but stood Texas Strong being Islanders.
This is not the first time Drake has responded quickly to danger,. According to Drake’s mon, once when he was 5 years old he saved a house from being burned down in Illinois acting calm and fast. I am very proud of my son Drake, who works for a National Security Company on Galveston, Island, and my future daughter in law Christine Marie who is a Marine Biologist Graduate from Texas A&M working as a Vet Tech on the Island until a position opens up in her field in the area. We need more people like this in the news… I wish I was in Texas right now to give them both a hug.

I am so thankful for you. You have grown into a strong and brave man, who is a natural leader. You are not afraid to take responsibility and step up to what is expected of you. You go above and beyond in everything you do and that makes me so proud.

Glad the elderly couple made it out alive. So sad about their trailer. Thanks to the young man and all involved for their heroic efforts!
Great Story! We need more great stories like this in the news. I hope the young man gets some kind of recognition.
