This was the 31st year for The Bolivar Peninsula Lighthouse Krewe Mardi Gras and they took great care in the organization of the parade this year with emphases on social distancing for entries and spectators. We ask all persons to space 6 feet apart watching the parade from the sidelines and entries to social distance on floats or make them a family event. Participants were prepaid & sent a parade # online so they could be waved into the staging area from 6 feet away to line up. The weather was very cold but luckily the rain held off during the parade making for a very memorable day for all.
For the first year ever, the judging was outsourced to the FOE 3719 Eagles, committee chair LB Hunt and they did a phenomenal job. The winners were presented with impressive handmade trophies made by BPL Krewe King Jim Denys. Private Trophy presentation was Sunday at the FOE 3719 Eagles Lodge by appointment.
The Bolivar Peninsula Lighthouse Krewe wish to thank all that helped and participated to make this year event successful and remind every to continue to mask up & social distance.
