Well, I hope not, because I had a grand time just doin’ nothin’! The work week seemed like it was 10 days instead of only 5. It was so long that I took off an hour early on Friday just to get my weekend started. I had great intentions, but I wasted a beautiful Saturday by going into town to shop. By the time I got home and got all my stuff upstairs, I was too exhausted to get started on anything. Took Maezy to the beach and we were shut-ins for the rest of the evening. Sunday was yucky, too yucky to spend much time outside. I guess all my outdoor plans will have to wait.
Too bad, because one of my chores was to weed’n’feed the yard and my husband just mowed. Now, I’ll have to wait until he mows again. That stuff is so expensive, I hate to spread it and have it not be able to soak in. I bought more flowers to plant and little by little the garden is getting weeded. Looks like my asparagus has reached its end, nothing seems to appear rising up from the ground anymore, maybe it’s still a bit too early.
I had the house all to myself, my guys went on their yearly hunting trip. I couldn’t wait to see pictures of their adventure. Matthew and our little grandson, Pierce, shot the one and only deer. From the pictures, I thought “uh oh,” it’s a Bambi … I was quickly corrected, it was an Axis, they still have spots. Thank goodness. Then, I began receiving pictures of the other grandsons, Michael and Dax, fishing and catching huge Bass from the lake on the property. So exciting! Hearing stories of s’mores and spaghetti with character sauce, poker games and slingshot and BB gun tournaments.
I didn’t have a lot to report from my own weekend, since I did nothin’!
But, I did enjoy my puzzle and eating a few things I don’t normally eat except when I’m alone doing nothin’, like artichokes and my bombastic homemade pizza.
I hope you all get to experience doing nothin’ if that’s what you’re into. Every once in a while, it’s a good thing, enjoy!
