Girls’ Weekend

(May-22-2012) Please allow me to tell you a very eye-opening fact about men and women. OK, now that I have your attention…here goes: I decided to have a Girls’ Weekend because my husband was having a guys’ weekend. Actually, he didn’t call it that, it was called something like “Links and Lagers.” I’m still not sure what that means, but I assume it means golf and a lot of beer. Anyway, he left the house to me and I invited some girlfriends I used to work with who had never seen the house.

Hold on, I’m getting to my point, and my point is this: he had 14 guys at his event. I had 5 ladies, counting myself, at my event. And my point is that you can throw a gillion guys together at any given point, but you had better be careful which girls you put together for an overnight, much less a whole weekend! Just to be fair, our house couldn’t comfortably hold 14 women. I mean, where would they put all the large suitcases, make-up bags & hanging clothes they brought for one night? You’re right, I’m exagerating and I’m going to quit.

I truly love the girls I had at my weekend hang out and I love how well they get along with one another. I love how they made this house their own. I only had to point them in the direction of the other refrigerator, the glasses, silverware, coolers and coffee cups. I even dragged them to a neighborhood party where they didn’t know a soul, but they were with me and they were lovely.

My husband’s already planning his next buddy golf weekend and I’m right there with him, planning the next Girls’ Fling!

GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you.
